It’s lonely on this pitcher’s fantasy baseball bandwagon. Join me?
It's happening again.
In our work chat room, Nicholas Minnix, my informed but unwittingly cruel colleague, brandished the name of a certain erratic starting pitcher that has teased fantasy baseball players for years. Naturally, we soon threw around some positive aspects that, in a perfect world, could prompt this pitcher to rebound from another dismal season.
"... just hate seeing ALL THAT TALENT wasted on a 5.00-plus ERA," Minnix said of this arm. "Actually, with a normal HR/9 last year, he'd have been aight ..."
"His tombstone is going to read 'THIS is the year, I can feel it.'"

Who’s the 2011 Fantasy Football Turkey?

Too many turkeys to choose from
Turkey, pies, football ... we're already too stuffed on goodness to keep talking about tomorrow. Three quality games on the slate to mix with the best of the rest that Thanksgiving has to offer.
While we give thanks to our friends, families, the military, and everything else we're happy, grateful and hopeful for, there are the darker things that we must also acknowledge.
Like the fantasy football turkeys that ripped the stuffing out of many people's chances at winning a championship. Tap your mouse here for more »
What’s the moral of Brent Morel’s September story?

Moral: Morel can break through
Sometimes September breakouts go for naught, but they often lead to growth in the following season.
Many will flock to Matt Wieters for his hot finish to last year. One less publicized but possibly promising wrap-up? The ninth calendar page of Brent Morel's 2011. Tap your mouse here for more »
Tim’s NFBC fantasy baseball mock band headlined by power trio?

Has Tim A-Gon insane?
Our friends at RotoWire and Mock Draft Central put on their first mock draft party of the year last week. Here's how it turned out.
From the four spot, one could go in numerous directions. Ryan Braun? Matt Kemp? Jacoby Ellsbury?
Cleveland Indians must stay grounded in pitching philosophy

Masterson of ground domain
Derek Lowe ranked second among qualifying 2011 MLB starting pitchers in ground-ball percentage. Breakout arm Justin Masterson and erratic righty Fausto Carmona came in at seventh and eighth in the majors, respectively.
Ubaldo Jimenez has hovered around 50 percent his entire career and can easily reach that mark again - along with the elite flashes he displayed in the first half of 2010 - with health and some mechanical readjustments. Potential rotation member Jeanmar Gomez likes to burn worms, as well.
Three of MLB's top eight grounder inducers from the past campaign will have to rely on the Cleveland Indians' young and/or shaky infield in a park that's already generally pitcher-friendly and homer-suppressing. Hmm. Tap your mouse here for more »
Denver Broncos embracing Tim’s Tebowing

Tebowing
The tantalizing but polarizing Tim Tebow has captured the hearts of many reality football fans and is starting to win over the fantasy and QB Rating gods with his feet, if not, overwhelmingly, with his arm.
He has shown a connection with Eric Decker and Eddie Royal, with Demaryius Thomas still lurking as a weapon. Willis McGahee's Week 9 explosion reminded us of the impact Tebow can have on drawing the attention of opposing run defenses, as well.
Now, John Fox and the Denver Broncos' staff are trying their hand at Tebowing. Tap your mouse here for more »
Fantasy football mailbag: T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Andre Johnson, defensive teams

Wait on AJ? In this case, probably best

Thoughts on Housh signing with Raiders? Fantasy value?
T.J. Houshmandzadeh's familiarity with Carson Palmer and Hue Jackson from their Cincinnati Bengals days would lead some to think he can make an impact. Expect Housh to be used in the Oakland Raiders' slot on occasion; that's his style. Tap your mouse here for more »
