Fantasy football rookies: Worth the risk?

Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints

Rookies will be behind the learning curve more than ever

Each year, fantasy football players key in on the incoming rookie class of players to find some fresh blood for their rosters - whether that be in fantasy football keeper or redraft from scratch yearly format.

Sometimes these rookie players blow up and become mainstays in weekly lineups, much like Mike Williams did a year ago. Other times, fantasy owners select a player too high and are only rewarded with occasional flashes of potential, much like Ryan Mathews last season.

Caution is often used when it comes to rookie players, and rightfully so - they are making a huge transition from the college ranks to the NFL level. Some players get it, some do not. Tap your mouse here for more »

I need to move to Elm Street...

The NFL Draft is finally behind us. Before we know it, training camps and the 2010 fantasy football season will be here.  In the mean time, rookie minicamps, team minicamps and the closing out of the free-agent market remains.

For the most part, however, the next three months will be relatively quiet on the NFL front. That gives us all time to catch our breath a little bit, take in some summer blockbuster movies (starting with A Nightmare on Elm Street remake this weekend) and start preparing for the 2010 fantasy football season.

NFL Draft Day in review... KFFL.com's Cory J. Bonini broke down some winners and losers from the NFL Draft earlier this week. Check out his thoughts on the best - and worst - from the AFC as well as the best - and worst - from the NFC.

The 2010 NFL Draft is in the books; and, as always, it was a very enjoyable ride. Mark me down as a huge fan of the new three-day format; well done, NFL.

I always found the old format to be very overwhelming. This new style, which I hope continues, allows you to sit back, take everything in and evaluate changes more logically.

Not only are there a lot of new fresh faces in the league from the NFL Draft selections, there are also some veterans who changed teams due to trades. Tap your mouse here for more »

Feels like Christmas...

Today feels a little bit like Christmas; minus the fact that Lindsay Lohan won't be under my tree.

By the time this weekend is complete, each NFL team will have new presents on offense, defense and special teams that hopefully improve their squad from a year ago.

Yesterday, I "Rocked the Mock" with my picks for the first round of today's NFL Draft. Tap your mouse here for more »

No. 1 getting complicated?

Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford isn't going to have a contract in place with the St. Louis Rams before the NFL Draft according to reports. He isn't comfortable having a deal in place and wants to see what happens during the NFL Draft. The Rams are fine with it, as they know the numbers and feel confident Bradford would eventually sign his deal provided he is the pick. Tap your mouse here for more »

Kate BeckinsaleFor as much as I love technology and am addicted to many toys tied directly to it, sometimes it just makes you want to return to the stone age.

Our buddy, Murphy's Law, stopped by late Tuesday and again Wednesday morning to remind us we're still on bad terms, as he decided to put one of our hard drives on life support. Why can't he ask Kate Beckinsale to stop by instead?

A special thanks to Uri Foox, our lead IT guru, and the excellent team at UP.net, our top-notch ISP since 1996, for saving the day once again. I'm going to have to find a theme song for those guys. Tap your mouse here for more »
