Use caution with Mark Ingram’s fantasy football value

The fantasy football value of New Orleans Saints rookie running back Mark Ingram was tossed about recently on our new Big Lead Sports on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio show (catch us every Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET).

RB Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints

Will the Saints give Mark Ingram the rock enough?

I'm in the camp that believes Ingram will not have a season that makes him any better than a No. 3 back in fantasy football circles. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft: Panthers shouldn’t take a quarterback

Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

More problems than an Icon can fix

The NFL Draft begins Thursday and the Carolina Panthers sit with the first-overall selection. General manager Marty Hurney said recently the team has not received any offers for the No. 1 selection; barring a drastic turn of events, its safe to assume they will hang onto it.

Auburn quarterback Cam Newton has been the popular pick amongst draftniks around the web over the last few weeks and speculation grows by the minute the team will take Newton, but didn't the Panthers take a quarterback rather early in last year's NFL Draft?

Yes, they did. His name is Jimmy Clausen and he deserves another chance. Tap your mouse here for more »

With Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) doubtful for Week 16, Jennings is going to be given an opportunity to gift wrap a box score full of statistics for fantasy footballers looking to bring home a league championship. Tap your mouse here for more »

Fantasy Football: Randy Moss and the Minnesota Vikings (Updated)

Randy Moss

Purple must be Moss' color

Even with a bye week on tap, the New England Patriots and wide receiver Randy Moss were at the center of attention Tuesday evening. By Wednesday morning, Moss was no longer a member of the Patriots and is once again sporting the purple helmet he donned when he first entered the NFL many years ago.

The Minnesota Vikings are once again Moss' home.

Brett Favre takes the snap. He looks left. He looks right. He fires a deep pass to... Randy Moss. Touchdown!

That scenario is possible as early as this weekend. Tap your mouse here for more »

Week 3 of the NFL and fantasy football season is just about in the books. For those of you keeping track at home, we have already completed 23 percent of the fantasy football regular season (13 games).

The first three weeks of each season are always the most difficult when it comes to setting your fantasy football team's lineup, as teams are figuring themselves out just like we are busy trying to figure them out. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Preseason: Week 4 thoughts

Anthony Dixon, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Strong preseason for Dixon

The 2010 NFL Preseason is officially put to bed, as all of the teams have completed their final exhibition games of the summer. Week 4 of preseason play was quiet, for the most part, in terms of what it means to fantasy football fanatics, as most of the players seeing significant time were jockeying for a roster spot amongst other bubble players.

I'm drinking the Kool-Aid of…

San Francisco 49ers running back Anthony Dixon really impressed during the preseason. He had 12 carries for 80 yards, including a nifty 46-yard touchdown run against the San Diego Chargers Thursday. When you are looking to handcuff someone to Frank Gore in your fantasy football league this year, Dixon is a better option instead of veteran running back Brian Westbrook.
