Cliff Lee joins the Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers acquired SP Cliff Lee from the Seattle Mariners Friday, July 9, in exchange for 1B Justin Smoak and three other players, according to MLB Network. The Mariners will also be sending some cash and RP Mark Lowe to the Rangers. Smoak, Ps Blake Beavan and Josh Lueke and 2B Matt Lawson will be headed to Seattle.
Milwaukee Brewers' Yovani Gallardo placed on 15-day DL

Philadelphia Phillies place Chase Utley on the DL
The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to place both 2B Chase Utley (thumb) and 3B Placido Polanco (elbow) on the disabled list Tuesday, June 29, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. Utley is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his thumb Tuesday. Polanco received a cortisone injection in his right elbow Monday, June 28, and said his injury might require offseason surgery. Texas Rangers OF Nelson Cruz hits the DL

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Aaron Hill placed on 15-day DL
The Canadian Press reports the Toronto Blue Jays placed second baseman Aaron Hill (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list Monday, April 12, with a hamstring injury. Manager Cito Gaston said the team is being cautious with Hill and do not want to risk further damage.
