Fantasy Football Paleontology: Unearthing Tarvarisaurus Rex

Why all the hate for Tarvaris Jackson? We've seen the bad, and a little bit of good, but he is an enigma at this point. Are we just afraid of the unknown?

I'm not saying you should draft T-Jax as your No. 1, but there is no reason why he can't back up a Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees on your roster. Is he really any worse than Kyle Orton, Mark Sanchez, Donovan McNabb, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Kevin Kolb? Tap your mouse here for more »

I just can’t help myself

I know you are tired of hearing about him, and I have a nearly exhausted my tolerance for writing about him, but Brett Favre may not be as done as people think.

The 41-year-old "retired" legend says his arm feels as good as ever, but he doesn't want to keep putting his body through the beatings it takes to play quarterback in the NFL. It's hard to fault him, and I want to believe he is being genuine, but the streak is over, so the pressure is off. Tap your mouse here for more »

Carson Palmer: What’s next?

According to published reports, head coach Marvin Lewis says Carson Palmer won't be a Cincinnati Bengal in 2011.

Should we be surprised? (Should we care?) Palmer reportedly says he is sitting on a mountain of cash and doesn't need Cincy's money. I believe he doesn't, but that kind of loot is tough to say no to. Tap your mouse here for more »

2010 Projections Review – QBs: Where we went wrong

I firmly believe one of the foundations of developing accurate fantasy football projections is to understand where you went wrong the previous year. Recognizing mistakes and learning from them is the primary goal when reviewing; anyone can have dumb luck and come close a few times, but true, long-term success is measured by consistent production.

We projected roughly 700 players last year, so I'll chip away at the positions over the coming weeks to show you where we went wrong, what we did well, and how we will go about avoiding the same mistakes in 2011. Tap your mouse here for more »

Where does Donovan McNabb turn next?

What's next for Donovan McNabb? Benched for the remainder of the season, the veteran quarterback finds himself in uncharted territory in his 12-year. The threat had loomed at times in Philadelphia, but it was never handled as awkwardly as the Washington Redskins' coaching staff has chosen to deal with the benching. Tap your mouse here for more »

Sidney Rice, Wes Welker, Tim Tebow and more

It's hard to believe we are approaching Week 10 already. This season has been filled with a lot of drama, and fantasy owners are digging deep trying to make that important playoff push.

I have a lot of fragments on my mind this week, and most of them have fantasy implications. As my brain floats aimlessly about the NFL, all I want is a decadent California burrito, warmer weather and frosty microbrew. Some things will have to wait longer than others, because it's a cold one outside! Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft Grapevine: NFC winners and losers

Now that we've had a few days to digest the offerings of the 2010 NFL Draft, it is time for our annual draft winners and losers piece. In what is always a controversial analysis, everyone has fun grading the draft or tearing apart the next guy's evaluation. Truth be told, it's unfair to grade anything before a few seasons of football have been played, but who has time for that?

This year there were a lot more winners than losers. Most teams did really well, in general, and only seven come in as having below-average drafts in our eyes.

With the teams listed in no particular order, let's get at it! Tap your mouse here for more »
