The ball is in Peyton Manning’s court

Should the Indianapolis Colts try to trade the face of their franchise, none other than one Peyton Manning, this offseason?

I say yes, only if the price is right - AND the Colts have already secured the rights to selecting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck by "earning" the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Tap your mouse here for more »

Head-to-head rant, Carson Palmer and an 18-game sked

I hope my readers enjoyed more success in Week 3 than I did. It was a rough weekend in most of my leagues. I learned from my lineup mistakes, and a few were unavoidable ... sometimes the matchups don't play out as expected, which is just part of the game.

On a tangent: I am sick of head-to-head leagues. Total points formats showcase the talents of owners far more than H2H setups do, because you have removed the potential for a lucky win or a fluky loss. The cumulative standings in total points leagues are reflective of savvy owners making the right lineup choices, just as much as they are of the opposite. Sure, luck has a factor in fantasy football - no question about it - but I hate to give it a helping hand. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft Grapevine: McNabb's effects on the draft

Being a mock drafter is a tough job, I tell ya. You need thick skin, because, after all, you're always wrong, and you never get credit when you're right.

No one remembers if you correctly picked the first 10 picks, and no matter how accurate you are, you are considered a fool by most. It comes with the territory.

The Donovan McNabb trade caused a ripple effect in our last mock draft, so it was time to update that puppy before we were berated any further.

With Monday's update came a lot of changes, so let's break them down. Tap your mouse here for more »

Ten things I learned from Super Bowl XLIV

How about the New Orleans Saints? A great game was played by both squads, and it really came down to a few key plays, as it should have.

I learned 10 important things, in no particular order, from this year's Super Bowl. Tap your mouse here for more »

Checking out the conference championship games

cory-j-bonini-misanthropic-musing

It's a good thing (for you, that is) I make a living doling out fantasy advice and not telling gamblers which teams to wager on, because I would have a lot of angry betters knockin' down my door! I've gone 3-5 so far with my playoff picks; the only teams I have remaining are the Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts (who I originally picked to lose to San Diego in the AFC Championship). That's not too bad, I guess. Tap your mouse here for more »

Divisional Round matchup preview

cory-j-bonini-misanthropic-musing

Last week I offered my predictions for Wild Card Weekend, and I was way off. I thought for sure the New England Patriots would win, and the Green Bay Packers had it in the bag in my mind. I'm not going to mention the Philadelphia Eagles' pathetic demonstration. While the Pack came close, and some may argue the refs aided their demise, a loss is a loss.

Moving forward, hopefully my calls are more accurate this week. The divisional round brings us several fantastic matchups. Tap your mouse here for more »

Rest assured, but by whom exactly?

Some fantasy leagues play through Week 17, and if you are one of those owners, join me for a look at which teams figure to rest their players. If your league concluded last week, congratulations if you won! If not, there's always next year!
