Hue Jackson’s demise as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders
New Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie - the Green Bay Packers' director of football operations since 1994 - put his stamp on the organization by making his first move the dismissal of head coach Hue Jackson in a move that reeked of Al Davis.
Jackson's Raiders went 8-8 in 2011 after a 7-4 start. Finishing 1-4 over the final five games, including blowout losses to the Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers, may have been the proverbial nail in the coach's coffin. Tap your mouse here for more »
Life after Greg Jennings in the Green Bay passing game
The Green Bay Packers' loss of Greg Jennings (knee) for what will likely be the rest of the regular season should send you to the waiver wire; look no further than some of his teammates.
Veteran Donald Driver should assume the role of the primary possession receiver, but that may not translate into a lot of production since there are so many short-range weapons in this offense. The old man of this group is a low-end flex play in point-per-reception leagues. Tap your mouse here for more »
What I learned from Week 1 of the NFL season
I never have been a fan of Internet lists, so I may need to have a few drinks tonight to wash down the taste of hypocrisy. Before I wash off the filth, I'll indulge all of you list-lovers out there.
The 10 things I learned from Week 1 NFL action (in no particular order): Tap your mouse here for more »
Shawne Merriman, Jermichael Finley, an RB swap and more
I'm sick ... and not in the new-age cool connotation. Coughing, choking, sniffling, runny nose, headache, congestion. Fun stuff. You outta try it sometime.
Through all of the tissues, Dayquil, Chloraseptic's green death flavor and finally somewhat muted misery, I've had to concentrate on a wild week in the NFL, and it's only Wednesday. TO and Chad have a show together, which is easily better than either of their individual programs. Jerry Jones continues to give Wade Phillips a lukewarm vote of confidence, the San Diego Chargers are still cycling through long snappers like Hugh Hefner is 20-somethings, and the Brett Favre scandal speculation is going strong. What's next for one of the NFL's all-time greats?
OK, I'll be the first to admit my man-love for LaDainian Tomlinson entering the 2009 fantasy football season bit me in the tail in a lot of leagues. There were many justifiable reasons to like LT as a buy-low draft pick last summer, but he was also a risky choice.
Heading into the 2010 fantasy fray, Tomlinson's future is cloudy, and his dominance is a thing of the past. Regardless of where he ends up, it's no secret that LT's best play is behind him, and his fantasy value is going to be at the lowest of his illustrious career. Tap your mouse here for more »
Divisional Round matchup preview

Last week I offered my predictions for Wild Card Weekend, and I was way off. I thought for sure the New England Patriots would win, and the Green Bay Packers had it in the bag in my mind. I'm not going to mention the Philadelphia Eagles' pathetic demonstration. While the Pack came close, and some may argue the refs aided their demise, a loss is a loss.
Moving forward, hopefully my calls are more accurate this week. The divisional round brings us several fantastic matchups. Tap your mouse here for more »
Wild Card Weekend is fast approaching!

It's playoff time, and the air is full of chatter about whose team is better than the next. I'm not particularly convicted to one team winning it all, as I can see several scenarios playing out. For now, I'll focus on this weekend's slate of games. Tap your mouse here for more »
Rest assured, but by whom exactly?

Some fantasy leagues play through Week 17, and if you are one of those owners, join me for a look at which teams figure to rest their players. If your league concluded last week, congratulations if you won! If not, there's always next year!
