Free agency and fantasy football

As you know, this little thing called the NFL lockout has been lifted, and fantasy owners can't get enough of this stuff. Join me as I spin around the league to address interesting, and some not so, fantasy situations.

Buffalo Bills

I have to say, Tyler Thigpen is underrated (unless you're a Miami Dolphins fan. In that case, he is a worthless bum). He is reunited with Chan Gailey and will battle Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting gig. I prefer Fitz in this situation, but don't you get the impression that Buffalo does not? Keep a close eye on this one, because a quarterback change could really screw up Stevie Johnson's fantasy value.

Miami Dolphins

Reggie Bush, eh? I like this move. After all, it worked out all right the last time Miami acquired a former first-round rusher from the Saints....

Daniel Thomas' third-down workload will take a hit, but I still feel Tony Sparano is perfectly comfortable making the rook his bell cow. Also, the former quarterback has experience running the wildcat; it isn't dead just yet in South Beach. Consider the powerful Thomas a No. 3 fantasy back, probably a fourth in PPR setups, and Bush a No. 4 option in point-awarding leagues. Tap your mouse here for more »

Early-season fantasy football draft review

I recently participated in a 12-team, 20-round non-maintenance draft hosted by MyFantasyLeague.com. I held the fourth overall pick. Tap your mouse here for more »

Where does Donovan McNabb turn next?

What's next for Donovan McNabb? Benched for the remainder of the season, the veteran quarterback finds himself in uncharted territory in his 12-year. The threat had loomed at times in Philadelphia, but it was never handled as awkwardly as the Washington Redskins' coaching staff has chosen to deal with the benching. Tap your mouse here for more »

How much is Michael Vick worth, and does he deserve it?

Michael Vick put on a clinic in Week 10, and fantasy owners received the highest single-game output in recent memory, at least from a quarterback.

This morning, I was watching "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on ESPNU, and the loquacious host professed his preference of not wanting to sign Vick to a lucrative, long-term contract once the redeemed passer becomes a free agent after this season.

Cowherd's argument was, in a nutshell: Vick has questionable off-field decision-making skills and could relapse once he is given a big-money contract. Tap your mouse here for more »

A few fantasy football shots from the hip

KFFL.com has been working on our 2010 fantasy football season, and we hope to have an initial release available within a month. We'll be adding to the list of projected players throughout the offseason, also adjusting players as situations warrant fine-tuning. Until then, enjoy my random ponderings. NFL Draft Grapevine: McNabb's effects on the draft

Being a mock drafter is a tough job, I tell ya. You need thick skin, because, after all, you're always wrong, and you never get credit when you're right.

No one remembers if you correctly picked the first 10 picks, and no matter how accurate you are, you are considered a fool by most. It comes with the territory.

The Donovan McNabb trade caused a ripple effect in our last mock draft, so it was time to update that puppy before we were berated any further.

With Monday's update came a lot of changes, so let's break them down. Tap your mouse here for more »

Ask KFFL's Experts: Cory J. Bonini

Random questions were posed to KFFL.com's team of editors. Some queries are hypothetical. Most of them deal with fantasy football, while others address the NFL Draft. Each editor's response is his own view of the situation at hand, so the answers may vary from the KFFL consensus. Tap your mouse here for more »

Wanted: A playmaker

QB Donovan McNabb

QB Donovan McNabb

Philadelphia Eagles fans are known to be a fickle, demanding, overbearing, passionate and faithful group of people. Collectively, their faith has dwindled, not in the Eagles as a team but in head coach Andy Reid's and quarterback Donovan McNabb's ability to jointly lead this team to the Promised Land.

Many fans are upset at this hour that the rotund Reid and seemingly unflappable McNabb are indeed returning in 2009 for another crack at it, but rest assured that this is the right move for the organization. Every team's fans can hope, dream and wish their way to a world championship, but the reality is the team needs to have the goods on the field to deliver when it counts. Tap your mouse here for more »
