What I learned from Week 1 of the NFL season

I never have been a fan of Internet lists, so I may need to have a few drinks tonight to wash down the taste of hypocrisy. Before I wash off the filth, I'll indulge all of you list-lovers out there.

The 10 things I learned from Week 1 NFL action (in no particular order): Tap your mouse here for more »

Is Ryan Fitzpatrick a fantasy football stud in the making?

Could the Buffalo Bills' Ryan Fitzpatrick be the breakout quarterback of 2011? He was on his way in 2010 but needs to tone down his mistakes and improve his accuracy to make the leap to the next level. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft Grapevine: Top five picks

The top five picks of this year's NFL Draft are tougher to predict than any year in recent memory. The only team I have confidence in mocking a pick for is the Arizona Cardinals.

The owners of the first overall pick can go in more possible directions than imaginable. In addition, no one player has emerged as the consensus No. 1 pick. Tap your mouse here for more »

Carson Palmer: What’s next?

According to published reports, head coach Marvin Lewis says Carson Palmer won't be a Cincinnati Bengal in 2011.

Should we be surprised? (Should we care?) Palmer reportedly says he is sitting on a mountain of cash and doesn't need Cincy's money. I believe he doesn't, but that kind of loot is tough to say no to. Tap your mouse here for more »

2010 Projections Review – QBs: Where we went wrong

I firmly believe one of the foundations of developing accurate fantasy football projections is to understand where you went wrong the previous year. Recognizing mistakes and learning from them is the primary goal when reviewing; anyone can have dumb luck and come close a few times, but true, long-term success is measured by consistent production.

We projected roughly 700 players last year, so I'll chip away at the positions over the coming weeks to show you where we went wrong, what we did well, and how we will go about avoiding the same mistakes in 2011. Tap your mouse here for more »

Where does Donovan McNabb turn next?

What's next for Donovan McNabb? Benched for the remainder of the season, the veteran quarterback finds himself in uncharted territory in his 12-year. The threat had loomed at times in Philadelphia, but it was never handled as awkwardly as the Washington Redskins' coaching staff has chosen to deal with the benching. Tap your mouse here for more »

For the record, Tarvaris Jackson isn’t the answer

The big news of Week 14 was Brett Favre (shoulder, ankle, hand, you name it) missing his first game since Sept. 27, 1992. For the better part of the season, pundits have called for Tarvaris Jackson to replace the veteran gunslinger so the Minnesota Vikings could assess if T-Jax was their quarterback of the future.

That suggestion always made me laugh. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft: Midround prospects of note

Gilyard took a tumble

After two days and three rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft, several talented prospects remained on the board. Before I dive into the fourth round, let's examine a few late third-rounders to see if we can find any diamonds in the fantasy football rough. Tap your mouse here for more »

NFL Draft Grapevine: McNabb's effects on the draft

Being a mock drafter is a tough job, I tell ya. You need thick skin, because, after all, you're always wrong, and you never get credit when you're right.

No one remembers if you correctly picked the first 10 picks, and no matter how accurate you are, you are considered a fool by most. It comes with the territory.

The Donovan McNabb trade caused a ripple effect in our last mock draft, so it was time to update that puppy before we were berated any further.

With Monday's update came a lot of changes, so let's break them down. Tap your mouse here for more »
