Life after Greg Jennings in the Green Bay passing game

The Green Bay Packers' loss of Greg Jennings (knee) for what will likely be the rest of the regular season should send you to the waiver wire; look no further than some of his teammates.

Veteran Donald Driver should assume the role of the primary possession receiver, but that may not translate into a lot of production since there are so many short-range weapons in this offense. The old man of this group is a low-end flex play in point-per-reception leagues.

James Jones, WR, Green Bay Packers

I'm banking on James Jones to be the biggest beneficiary of Jennings' injury, as he can play effectively in the intermediate game and has the wheels to take it to the house. Jones is a must for waiver wire additions this week, assuming he is available in your league. Consider him a No. 3 or flex receiver in all formats.

Speaking of the deep ball, Jordy Nelson should continue to be the team's star in this department. Jennings was no stranger to the big play, either, but Nelson has made a season out of it. There will be more coverage rolling his way, so his looks should decrease a tad, but he is athletic and talented enough to overcome this. He should remain a low-end No. 1 or strong second fantasy receiver.

Tight end Jermichael Finley should see more work over the middle, and he has some vertical ability for Aaron Rodgers to rely on. At running back, Ryan Grant is likely to see very marginal increases in targets. Rookie Randall Cobb could be counted on slightly more, but his limited experience may keep him reserved to a handful of plays per game. Cobb is a speculative pickup in deep leagues.

Jennings owners can stash him if they have the room, but he realistically should be released in most formats. Rodgers has enough weaponry to work with to remain an elite fantasy quarterback, but consistent big plays may be tougher for him to come by.

The Packers face the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, respectively, in the next three weeks.
