NBC Olympics and Fanball Team Up for Olympic Quick Pick (Fantasy Olympics Game)
NBCOlympics.com and Fanball are teaming up to bring fantasy Olympics to the masses through the Olympics Quick Pick game. Fanball will build the game, which will be NBC’s official fantasy Olympics game.
This is a very simple game. In fact, it only requires fantasy players to visit NBCOlympics each day. Once they visit, they will be assigned five random athletes competing for a medal each day. Players score points based on how well those athletes do that day. Prizes will be awarded for scoring the most points daily, and for the entire Olympics. One of the benefits of the game, as NBC Sports’ Director of Fantasy Rick Cordella points out, is that, “This game will give users a vested interest in athletes that may have been previously unknown to them.”
This is a great way to introduce fantasy sports to a whole other audience in a very simple, non-threatening way. In addition, the timing of the Olympics could potentially be a huge lead-in for the fantasy football season for NBC and Fanball.
