Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 6 to Week 11, unless otherwise noted.

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 1

  • Roethlisberger (concussion) has passed his neurological tests and is expected to play in Week 12. He blew up in Week 11, throwing for 398 yards and three touchdowns, but it's the first time he has come close to approaching 300 yards in the past three games. And it came against the Kansas City Chiefs, not the bastion of strong defense.
  • Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb
    McNabb may disappoint this week
It'll be tough for him to come close to that mark this week; the Ravens are allowing just 210.4 passing yards and 1.00 passing touchdown per game to opposing QBs. Last week they were only the second team this year to hold the Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning below 300 yards, and they picked him off twice.
  • Sure, Big Ben threw five touchdowns against Baltimore in their lone meeting in 2007. However, he attempted only 16 passes, completing 13, and managed just 209 yards. It's safe to say that is the exception in his recent history against Baltimore. He averaged just 218.5 passing yards and 1.00 score per game in two meetings with them last year.

Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 1

  • McNabb has left a bit to be desired for fantasy owners. Throw out the 450 yards he managed in Week 10 (when Philly was playing catch-up for most of the second half), and McNabb is averaging just 227.2 passing yards per game. He also has just nine touchdown passes.
  • The Redskins have held opposing quarterbacks to just 169.2 passing yards and 1.00 passing scores per game. They held another NFC East signal caller (the Dallas Cowboys' Tony Romo) to just 158 passing yards and one score last week.
  • Going back to the start of 2008, McNabb has just one touchdown pass and has thrown for more than 200 yards only once in three tries against the 'Skins.
