Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 7 to Week 10, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Quarterbacks

Kyle Orton, Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers

Fantasy value: No. 1 or Bench

  • Orton has bounced back nicely over the last two games after struggling in Weeks 6 and 7. He has thrown for 370 and 296 yards, respectively, in each of Denver's last two games while tossing five touchdown passes in that time.
  • The Chargers are giving up 243.3 passing yards and 1.00 passing touchdowns per game to this position. They've stopped the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans; all are at least competent throwing teams.
  • San Diego hasn't played against Orton this year, but in two games against them last year, he threw for just 400 yards and two scores.

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Oakland Raiders

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger
Big Ben: potential for small stats

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Big Ben tossed for 387 yards and three scores last week, though they were playing from behind. That might not be a problem against Oakland. In Weeks 8 and 9 Roethlisberger failed to eclipse 200 yards in either game and threw only one touchdown strike.
  • Oakland is allowing only 192.3 passing yards and 1.33 passing touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks. They're also picking off 1.00 passes per game.
  • Hines Ward's Week 11 outlook is a bit cloudy because of a concussion suffered Sunday night. They're already without one of their offensive line staples, Max Starks (neck).
  • The Raiders could have corner Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle) back this week after he sat out Week 9 before Oakland's Week 10 bye.

NEW - Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Fitzpatrick is averaging 262.5 passing yards and 1.75 passing touchdowns per game. He has also thrown 1.25 interceptions per game.
  • Opposing quarterbacks are averaging only 216.0 passing yards and 1.00 passing touchdowns per game against the Bengals. They're throwing 0.75 interceptions per game.
  • Cincy has limited some solid quarterbacks in the last month, too. The Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning threw for just 185 yards and didn't throw a TD pass against them last week. The week before, Pittsburgh Steelers signal caller Ben Roethlisberger tossed for just 163 yards and only one score against them.

Great, I have Orton and Big Ben, I'm hoping the Charger game will be a shootout forcing Orton to put up 50 balls, in a PPR league, that's money
