Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - AL

Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Watch Track player, add if trend continues
Pass Do not add player (in most circumstances)

Middle infielders

Everth Cabrera, SS, San Diego Padres

San Diego Padres SS Everth Cabrera
Cabrera ready to run

The Friars could activate their opening day shortstop this weekend, maybe by Friday. Jerry Hairston Jr. has been something of a sparkplug at times, but he hasn't hit extremely well. The PT picture won't be clear, but Hairston can play elsewhere, and who's hot will likely have something to do with it.

Cabrera's .212 average in 99 at-bats didn't make him an outstanding commodity, but he still had seven swipes. The Padres' energetic approach on the base paths combined with an OBP rise for Cabrera could spell stolen-base extravaganza. But there's uncertainty, so this move would be all about need.

Shallow mixed: Pass

Deep mixed: Watch

NL-only: Acquire

Pitchers

Alejandro Sanabia, P, Florida Marlins

The Fish called up a couple of pitchers, Sanabia the more notable. The right-hander, 21, was 5-1 with a 2.03 ERA and 0.89 WHIP, with 65 K's and 16 walks, in 84 1/3 innings (14 starts) at Double-A Jacksonville.

Sanabia will work out of the bullpen, an area where the Marlins could use the help. Unfortunately, that's where he'd help you least. He could always make an emergency start or fill in down the road.

Deep mixed: Pass

NL-only: Watch
