Felipe Lopez, Tampa Bay Rays (signed) This non-roster invitee could give Tampa another positional renaissance man. Reid Brignac and Sean Rodriguez are far from sure things. AL drafters looking for a bench capper should at least monitor his capable batting eye and steals potential. OutfieldersLastings Milledge, Chicago White Sox (signed) A depth move for the ChiSox, and a reason for AL-only players to keep the spring invite on their radar. Carlos Quentin doesn't shy away from DL stints, and Milledge might be the one to step in for him. But the 25-year-old's fly balls tanked, and it might just be empty BA and a handful of swipes if he were to gain PT. Designated hittersVladimir Guerrero, Baltimore Orioles (signed) Vladdy's new paddy is cozy to bats. The full-time DH, who looked like his elite self for Texas last year, actually has outfield eligibility in many formats; some might see that as a reason to overpay. While it does increase his value, it can't erase the 36-year-old's stumbling fly-ball rate and batting eye. Camden Yards is a caffeine boost, not a fountain of youth. PitchersFreddy Garcia, New York Yankees He'll compete for one of two rotation spots. Garcia won 12 games last year for his first significant innings total since '06 and still has useful control, but his dull velocity and vulnerability to homers doesn't make him a safe fantasy bet in Yankee Stadium. He'll help eat innings but can't promise they'll be tasty. Fantasy Baseball Hot Stove - NLAbout Tim Heaney
