On Parra as Jackson's replacement

A left hamstring strain forced Conor Jackson to the 15-day DL, opening up a spot in left field - Parra's skill is limited against lefties, but he should see everyday work. He replaced Jackson when he was injured Sunday and started in left again Monday.

Parra, soon 23, skipped Triple-A, so he's still trying to show consistent plate discipline. However, his speed (28 steals in the minors in '07) and average (.290 in the bigs last year) make him relevant for mixed owners with five-outfielder lineups; just be aware when a southpaw is on the mound.
