Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - NLFantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly. Key
CatchersTaylor Teagarden, C, Texas Rangers Jarrod Saltalamacchia (back) is on the DL. Teagarden was already set for part-time duty, but now he'll have a chance to piece together enough time to try to duplicate his impressive farm numbers (.390 on-base percentage, .509 slugging percentage, a homer every 17.6 at-bats). Count on the power first; his batting eye has yet to develop, but Teagarden's power potential in two-catcher mixed leagues is enough to take a chance on. Adjustments to his swing have helped his comfort at the plate. Hopefully you listened to us and are reading this with your feet up. If not, go grab him. He's streaky, but as a waiver wire pickup, all he offers is upside. Shallow mixed: Watch Deep mixed: Acquire AL-only: Acquire PitchersC.J. Wilson, SP, Texas Rangers The converted reliever has shown above-average dominance in his career as a setup man. He didn't give up a dinger in his home park, thanks to a positive groundball history. He also improved his control, an even bigger X-factor for the southpaw. Wilson has started off hot in his new role. He'll probably have some bumps as he works into his new job and should be considered a matchup start at first, but rounding out, say, a mixed roster as a No. 7 starter is a price worth trying him at. Shallow mixed: Watch Deep mixed: Acquire AL-only: Acquire Luke Hochevar, SP, Kansas City Royals A gem in his opening outing probably increased Hochevar's Google search rating. It's pronounced "HO-chay-vur," by the way. Make sure you know that so you can gleefully thank his groundball friendliness and improving dominance. The 2006 No. 1 overall draft pick has mad some adjustments in his delivery, and they've yielded positive results. If you're looking for a No. 7 or deeper mixed starter, Hochevar has massive boom potential. If you have an open roster spot for upside cases, pull the trigger before word catches on.
