Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - NLFantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly. Key
CatchersManager Joe Maddon moved Jaso up to the five-hole against right-handed pitchers, affirming Jaso's place in the lineup. Reports say Kelly Shoppach will play when he comes back, but Maddon is finding it hard to bench the lefty-hitting Jaso. Of course, Jaso might struggle hitting higher in the order, but ride him for as long as you can, especially in two-catcher setups. Shallow mixed: Watch Deep mixed: Acquire AL-only: Acquire Middle infieldersMaicer Izturis, IF, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Brandon Wood (hip) reportedly appears DL-bound, which not-so-coincidentally would probably include a "bonus" minor league stint to find his swing. Izturis (shoulder) should be activated within the next few days and would probably slide into a starting gig at third. Double-digit steals are a near certainty for Izturis as long as he plays. He posts elite contact percentages with potential to sniff a .300 average. Not a bad package for a middle infield lineup spot. Shallow mixed: Pass Deep mixed: Watch AL-only: Acquire PitchersWill Ohman, RP, Baltimore Orioles Reports say the lefty is the likely choice for most of B-more's save chances, with Alfredo Simon (hamstring) looking like a DL casualty. Grab Ohman now. Shallow mixed: Acquire Deep mixed: Acquire AL-only: Acquire Frank Mata, RP, Baltimore Orioles A few save chances, perhaps? Mata keeps the ball on the ground and has closed out 33 career farm games, including eight in 19 1/3 frames this season at Triple-A Norfolk. He hasn't shown much dominance in the high minors, though, and the 26-year-old doesn't have a high-upside stock. He might be sent down this weekend if the Orioles make some changes to their rotation. Tough to jump on him immediately if you don't have a trial roster spot, but monitor his performance and role - as well as Baltimore's rotation news.
