Catcher John Buck, Nunez's former Kansas City Royals teammate, stresses to the Florida Marlins' closer to keep the ball down, especially because his fastball and changeup are often on the same plane.
Nunez, perfect in five save opps, is still working on his slider, but the offering has produced positive results and with more progress could jack up his dominance. The work he's doing with his former teammate bodes well for him keeping the stopper job for the foreseeable future.
