What are the odds that you still own the relief pitchers you rostered in your fantasy baseball draft? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

  • No concerns from Milwaukee Brewers camp after another blown outing by John Axford (one run on a single and two walks). The club still trusts his stuff - he just needs to command it better, especially his heat, which he needs to keep down in the zone. He's falling behind a bunch, too, so his breaking stuff hasn't had the same impact.
Axford and skipper Ron Roenicke point to a not yet identified pitching adjustment as the solution. It's safe to say the Crew isn't comfortable with anyone else in the role, especially with Takashi Saito (hamstring) on the DL. Wait out the Ax.
  • Though he's 5-for-5 in save opps, Joel Hanrahan hasn't been confident in his slider. The Pittsburgh Pirates' righty will probably work with pitching coach Ray Searage to tweak his signature pitch. For all his troubles, though, Hanny's K/9, BB/9 and grounder rate have been shiny in his first nine frames.
  • Jim Tracy said he'll be monitoring Huston Street's workload and pitch counts while avoiding using him for multiple innings under normal circumstances. No four- or five-out saves this early, says the Colorado Rockies' skipper. No more multi-frame outings, like Street's three-inning affair, which, of course, Tracy called for. Either way, given the righty's injury history and frequent use, this is reassuring.
