What are the odds that you still own the relief pitchers you rostered in your fantasy baseball draft? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

  • Cincinnati Reds RP Aroldis Chapman
    Worth your speculation again
With Matt Capps getting a breather, Joe Nathan would've been the closer Wednesday if an opportunity arose for the Minnesota Twins. Ron Gardenhire insists Capps is still the stopper, but that trust is fading and could vanish completely if the righty can't recover soon.
Fantasy owners need to prepare for a change by grabbing Nathan. As much as it seemed like southpaw Glen Perkins would be next in line because of his two saves, in which he replaced Capps, it's hard to picture Minny passing over the vet who has saved 249 games for them in his career.
  • Francisco Cordero blew his first Cincinnati Reds save situation in his last nine chances after giving up a game-tying solo homer Wednesday. Aroldis Chapman, who has excelled after his return from the DL, notched the save in the 13th frame. Saves? Not without a CoCo injury, but Chapman is seeing more important innings and could soon be a relevant commodity for mixed leagues, especially for K-hungry teams.
