KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

Oh no, Coco: During his first Houston Astros save chance Tuesday, Francisco Cordero allowed a one-out single and a two-run homer to lose the lead. He topped that off with two walks and a grounder single to let in an insurance run. The rebuilding 'Stros will probably give Cordero a few more chances to prove he belongs in the role - if only to play out the string - but preemptively grabbing Wilton Lopez in your league is the right move.

Despite his recent success, John Axford won't snatch his old job back from the scuffling Francisco Rodriguez in the near future. Still, Ax has done a better job lately of keeping his heat down in the strike zone to prompt ground-ball outs. If this course continues, he should be back in the closer role with enough time to aid your fantasy push. Did someone hastily drop him in your game?
