Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 8 to Week 13, unless otherwise noted.

Fantasy football sleepers: Defensive teams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets

Fantasy value: High-end No. 1

  • Tampa Bay's six-week averages: 2.60 sacks, 1.00 interceptions and 0.60 fumble recoveries over the last month. They are allowing 25.4 offensive points per game, too.
  • The Jets have surrendered 2.40 sacks, 1.40 interceptions and 1.00 fumbles per game. Their offense has averaged just 17.0 points per game, too.
  • Quarterback Mark Sanchez (knee) might not suit up for the Jets this weekend; if he does, though, he has been injury prone and might not be able to scramble as much with a balky knee. His replacement, Kellen Clemens, was sacked three times in just under a half.

Houston Texans vs. Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • The Texans have done little to warrant being played this week; they've averaged just 2.00 sacks, 1.20 interceptions and 0.40 fumble recoveries. Also, they've allowed 20.4 points per game.
  • Seattle is allowing 2.67 sacks per game to opposing defenses, though they're allowing only 0.67 interceptions to the opposition.
  • The Texans should be acquired as a one-week play and can be found available in 74 percent of leagues polled.

NEW - Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 1

  • Desperate times call for ... teams like the Chiefs. They've registered only 1.80 sacks per game but have recorded 2.20 takeaways per outing.
  • Enter the Bills, who have allowed 3.00 sacks per game, which ranks third in the league since Week 7. They've also thrown 1.60 picks per game in that time.
  • Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown at least one pick in six of his seven games this year and has been sacked at least twice in five of seven. The Bills' O-line ranks on levels of awfulness alongside the Chiefs.

You guys should keep track of your success rate on the sleepers you give out for the week. I'd be interested to see those results. Set a standard point benchmark, say 8 points, and if a sleeper exceeds that, it's a W, if they fall short, it's a L.
