Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Fantasy football busts: Wide receivers

Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 2

  • Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings
Jennings erratic against Minny last year
It appears Jennings isn't high on the pecking order for looks, at least through the first three games. His 209 yards and one score overshadow his paltry eight receptions and 16 looks - the targets have also declined for two straight weeks.
  • Minnesota is allowing the second fewest receiving yards per game to this position (73.0) this year. They're also tied for the second fewest receptions (7.00) allowed to wideouts per game.
  • Green Bay's offense line has been horrible, to put it lightly. Without much time to throw, quarterback Aaron Rodgers could go with quick throws to get the ball out before pressure hits. So far this year, Jennings hasn't been the guy Rodgers looks to at the moment, instead trying to hit him on big plays deep.
  • Jennings was inconsistent against the Norse last season, going 5-91-0 in Week 1 and 3-37-0 in Week 10.

Pierre Garcon, Indianapolis Colts vs. Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 2 or high-end No. 3

  • The second-year receiver has been efficient with his catches as he has seven for 136 yards (19.4 yards per reception). He has also scored twice.
  • Seattle so far against opposing wideouts: 9.00 receptions, 112.3 receiving yards and 0.67 touchdowns per game. The first two averages are in the top third of the league with respect to limiting wideouts.

NEW - Ted Ginn Jr., Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 3 or flex

  • Ginn's weekly lines this year: 2-26-0 in Week 1, 11-108-0 in Week 2 and 0-0-0 in Week 3. Not exactly the model of consistency.
  • Buffalo has surrendered 152.7 receiving yards and 12.33 receptions per game to this position; however, they did a good job limiting the New Orleans Saints' wide receivers corps to only 96 yards last week.
  • With a first-time starter behind center this week, we could see a lot of dumpoff passes to the tight end or the possession guys (Davone Bess and Greg Camarillo). Quarterback Chad Henne might not be looking Ginn's way often, at least until he is more comfortable in the offense.
  • Ginn went off against Buffalo in the first game last year with seven receptions for 175 yards. However, he has just six receptions for 97 yards in the other three games they've played over the last two years. Also, he has yet to find the end zone against them.
