Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Matt Prater, Denver Broncos (48 percent)

Coming off his bye week, the third-year kicker could be available in your league. He has attempted at least three field goals in four of his last five games. This week he plays the Baltimore Ravens, who are allowing 2.67 field goal attempts and extra point attempts per game over the last four weeks (three games).

Also, his schedule moving forward includes the Washington Redskins (Week 10), San Diego Chargers (Week 11), Kansas City Chiefs (Week 13), Indianapolis Colts (Week 14) and Oakland Raiders (Week 15) - all are in the top 12 in kicking points allowed per week over the last month.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Josh Scobee, Jacksonville Jaguars (75 percent)

Opportunity has come knocking on Scobee's door of late; he has attempted six field goals in his last three games. The attempts should keep flowing for another week with the Tennessee Titans on tap in Week 8. Tennessee is allowing 2.33 field goal attempts and 5.33 extra point attempts per game over the last month. Bear in mind Tennessee's opponents' extra point attempts were inflated because of the Titans' 59-0 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 6. Scobee should receive plenty of field goal opps. this week; he'll just need to hit them (66.7 connection percentage this year).

NEW - Josh Brown, St. Louis Rams (86 percent)

St. Louis might actually have a chance to win this weekend for the first time since George W. Bush was in the White House; they'll face the Detroit Lions. The Lions have been giving up 351.7 yards per game over the last month, so the Rams should be able to get Brown into field goal position at the very least. Detroit is allowing 2.00 field goal attempts and 4.00 extra point attempts per game over the last month (three games). No kicker has missed an attempt against them, either, giving them 10.0 kicking points allowed per game in that time (tied for second most in the league).
