The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Matchup worth the risk

Ed Dickson, Baltimore Ravens (59 percent)

How's your flex looking this week? Though Dennis Pitta often cuts into TE looks in B-more, Dickson has been the more frequent target this season. Those nine targets he has garnered over the last three weeks hardly speak for him, but he has logged nine-plus looks in four games this season, including a 14-look, 10-snare Week 10.

The Indianapolis Colts can't cover ... well, just about anyone. In Week 14, Dickson will try to take advantage of this TE-friendly D that has yielded 6.67 catches, 57.3 yards and 0.67 touchdowns per game over their last three games. Sure, you can thank Rob Gronkowski's giant Week 13 performance, but Indy has given up the second most standard-scoring fantasy points to the position over the last month. The Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars don't get consistency from the position, but with the Colts, there's enough of a basis to take a desperation chance on Dickson, especially if you're losing Fred Davis to suspension.
