Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, it is important to stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the course of the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up in your league. Not being aggressive in picking up fantasy football free agents is not a wise move. Sometimes, even if you do not need the player for your starting lineup, it is wise to tuck the player away for depth as well as to block others from adding the player to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

Fantasy football leagues come in all shapes, so the following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Kris Brown, Houston Texans (35 percent)

As the Texans offense has woken up, Brown has followed suit, averaging 8.33 kicking points in the last three outings. He probably won't do much in distance kicking setups, but Houston should keep him active in terms of quantity. Heading into their Week 10 bye, they face the Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts; outside of the Bills, each ranks in the current bottom 11 of field goal attempts surrendered per game.

Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh Steelers (60 percent)

Reed has accuracy issues, no doubt, but he has tallied at least seven kicking points in three of Pittsburgh's four games this year, including back-to-back eight-point affairs. In the next two weeks Pittsburgh lines up against the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns, who have the top two averages of extra-point tries allowed per game. The Browns have also allowed the third most three-point attempts per contest.

Josh Scobee, Jacksonville Jaguars (88 percent)

A productive two-week stretch for Scobee has netted him 20 kicking points, including 13 in Week 4. The strong leg has converted two of four attempts from at least 50 yards; he just missed a 55-yarder this past week, and his only other unsuccessful three-point try this season was a blocked 46-yarder in Week 2. The Jags offense has benefited from favorable matchups in the last two weeks but still looks improved, especially with wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker healthy.

Jacksonville seemingly feels confident in letting Scobee kick from 50-plus yards, which can't hurt his fantasy chances. Before his Week 7 bye, he faces the St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks, two already moderately kicker-friendly teams that look primed to be more welcoming in future weeks.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are one-week plays for those who need injury or bye week replacements. These are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some are, however, showing some life and should have an eye kept on them to see if they materialize as worthy options beyond their temporary use.

NEW - Jay Feely, New York Jets (79 percent)

You need a replacement kicker for your bye week? Feely might be the man for your team. The Jets have been able to move the ball, at times, this year, but the big reason you'll want him this week is the 3.00 field goal attempts and 2.00 extra point attempts the Miami Dolphins are giving up per game this year. His matchups in Weeks 6 (Buffalo Bills) and 7 (Oakland Raiders) are decent, too, before he faces Miami again in Week 8.

NEW - Rian Lindell, Buffalo Bills (59 percent)

After being held to just an extra point in Week 3, Lindell contributed just four kicking points in Week 4. He has six field goal makes in only seven attempts this year. Well, the Cleveland Browns have been allowing 2.50 field goal attempts and 3.50 extra point attempts per game over the first four weeks. Figure Lindell is good for a few makes as a replacement kicker if your No. 1 guy is on a bye.

He went 2-for-3 from 50-plus and 8-for-10 from 40-plus, where he ranked in the middle of the pack in terms of accuracy. My assessment admittedly may have been too harsh at first, but I think he's still an average option from deep. Back to your point, I believe you're thinking of Josh Brown of the Rams, who was 6-for-8 from 50-plus, second behind Jason Hanson, who shockingly enough was 8-for-8.
