Fantasy Football Waiver WireFantasy Football Waiver Wire: PK - Week 15
By Bryce McRae Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DTIf you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Jeff Reed, San Francisco 49ers (80 percent) Reed nailed all four of his field goal attempts last week along with four extra point attempts. The week before, he made three field goal attempts and one extra point attempt. Joe Nedney (knee) has been floated as an Injured Reserve candidate. His matchup isn't great this week. The San Diego Chargers haven't surrendered a field goal in the last month, and they're giving up just 1.23 per game on the year. The offense moved pretty well under Alex Smith last week, though the meager resistance the Seattle Seahawks put up has to be taken into account. Reed isn't a great option this week despite being playable. He'll help you out in the follow two weeks, however. He faces the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals in Weeks 16 and 17, respectively. Against opposing kickers in the last month, St. Louis has allowed 2.25 field goal attempts; Arizona has allowed 3.00. Both teams have allowed 9.0 kicking points per game. Fantasy football free agents: One-week playsThe following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use. John Kasay, Carolina Panthers (92 percent)
Up above we touted the Arizona Cardinals' favorable matchup for opposing kickers. The beneficiary of that this week: Kasay. The Cards are yielding 3.00 field goal attempts and 9.0 kicking points per game to this position. Kasay hasn't been given a ton of work in the last two weeks with just one field goal attempt since his 3-for-5 outing Week 12. He should have a decent shot at more work this week, provided Carolina's recently found run game can move the ball on the best matchup for opposing backs (158.0 rushing yards per game) in the last month. We think they can, and it should pay off for Kasay. Keep tabs on Matt Prater's groin injury. If it keeps him out of Week 15, Hauschka, who went 2-for-3 on field goals in place of Prater on Sunday, will assume Denver's positive boot matchup. The Oakland Raiders have allowed 2.50 field goal attempts per game in the last month, and the Broncos' passing game is suffering just enough that Denver might have to continue settling for multiple field goal attempts.
