In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Texas Rangers RP Neftali Feliz
Feliz couldn't finish off team no-no
The Chicago White Sox's bridge to Bobby Jenks received some good news. An MRI on Matt Thornton (forearm) revealed no structural damage, but the lefty has some fluid in his right forearm. He should be fine in a few days. J.J. Putz's sore right knee is reportedly feeling better, and the injury might partially explain the righty's recent struggles.
Even with the 'pen healing, expect the ChiSox to continue testing Chris Sale in relief. The 2010 draft pick has started fast, continuing his rapid one-year rise to the bigs.
  • Rafael Soriano (Tampa Bay Rays) struck out all three batters he faced Monday on nine pitches, becoming one of just 41 pitchers to have accomplished a feat that has happened only 44 times in MLB history. Soriano quietly leads the majors with 38 closures - not a terrible mid-round value, eh?
  • Neftali Feliz failed to protect the Texas Rangers' group-effort no-hitter last night, allowing a single in the ninth before wrapping up the four-run victory on his third appearance in the last four days.
