- The San Francisco Giants are ramping up Brian Wilson's recovery from elbow inflammation. The right-hander threw 22 pitches off a mound on Wednesday, throwing some non-fastballs while making "steady progress," per the training staff. He'll probably need at least a simulated game before returning, and he could perform another throwing session today or tomorrow.
In the next few days, the Giants should have a better idea of a potential Wilson return date. Until then, the committee, led tentatively in name by Santiago Casilla, will remain, frustrating anyone who tries to pluck a save from it. Though Casilla owners might want to hang on to him until Wilson shows he's healthy, there already isn't much value to be drawn from this temporary arrangement. You should decide how much rolling the dice here is worth to your championship efforts.
