I mWhat are the odds that you still own the relief pitchers you rostered in your fantasy baseball draft? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

  • Texas Rangers RP Mike Adams
    Missing SD?
Though caution will be taken if so, Brian Wilson (elbow inflammation) might play catch Friday; if all goes well here, and likely in more subsequent workouts, the wacky closer might return to the San Francisco Giants sometime next week. They'll probably use a committee approach for saves at least this weekend.
  • Heading into Thursday's game, Neftali Feliz had pitched on the previous two days, and four of the previous five (along with warming up but not appearing on the other day). He wasn't available last night, so Mike Adams took the Texas Rangers' closer reins. But he blew the opportunity, giving up a walk-off two-run homer.
Sure, Adams' 3.24 August ERA isn't bad, but it's a jump from his San Diego Padres time. In 8 1/3 Texas innings, he has matched the two homers he allowed during his entire Padres campaign. With Feliz looking like his old self, there's less of a chance of Adams or Koji Uehara getting closing chances outside fill-ins like this.
