Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 1 to Week 3, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Tight ends

Dustin Keller, New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

Fantasy value: Strong No. 1

  • Player name
    A matchup to drool over
Keller turned in his second straight strong performance. The third-year tight end has caught 13 passes for 213 yards and three scores in the last two weeks.
  • Only two teams have surrendered more points to this position over the first three weeks than Buffalo. They're giving up 5.33 receptions, 85.7 receiving yards and 0.33 receiving touchdowns per game.
  • Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has played some of his best football over the last six quarter while New York has done a great job protecting him (one sack). Buffalo has just one sack in the last two games. Sanchez should have plenty of time behind center to pick out Keller.

Aaron Hernandez, New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Fantasy value: No. 1 or flex

  • Hernandez's role in this offense has increased such that he was second among the offensive skill players in snaps played last week. He caught six passes for 65 yards in Week 3.
  • Last week, Miami gave up six receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns to the New York Jets' Dustin Keller. Keller and Hernandez are built in a similar mold; Hernandez should be able to take advantage of Miami in the same way as long as he keeps getting looks.
  • If you need to fill in for a bye week or an injured player, Hernandez can be found in 46 percent of leagues polled. The rook offers some long-term potential, but his Week 5 bye might make him roster fodder after this week unless you have room for two tight ends.

NEW - Kevin Boss, New York Giants vs. Chicago Bears

Fantasy value: Flex or bench

  • Boss shook off the effects of his Week 1 concussion to catch three passes for 88 yards last week. New York's quarterback Eli Manning looked to the tall tight end seven times last week, including twice in the red zone.
  • The Bears have surrendered by far the most receptions to this position per game (9.33) over the first three weeks. Part of that is their opposition, though, as they've faced the Dallas Cowboys' Jason Witten and the Green Bay Packers' Jermichael Finley in the last two weeks.
  • With Chicago's run D among the best in the league, the Giants probably will take to the air to keep their offense moving. Boss could be an attractive target if offensive tackles David Diehl and Kareem McKenzie have trouble with the Bears' standout end Julius Peppers.
