In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.
Note: All statistics are from Week 9 to Week 12, unless otherwise stated.
Fantasy football sleepers: Tight ends
Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers at New York Giants
Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1
One of the largest decoys in the NFL has caught just 11 passes over the last four weeks, including five snares and one touchdown in Week 9. He hasn't logged more than five targets in each of Green Bay's last three games.
Chandler, in Week 13? Bing!
- The Giants had no answer for behemoth TE Jimmy Graham on Monday - especially with an injury-laden LB corps - and the 6-foot-5, 247-pound Finley is in a similar position to wreak havoc. New York has given up 7.25 catches, 90.0 yards and 1.0 touchdown per game to the position. Those are averages are hardly Graham-inflated; in the three games before Week 12, NY allowed 8.0-92.0-0.67 per game.
Scott Chandler, Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans
Fantasy value: Flex or bench
- The Bills' offense lost two cogs with Fred Jackson (leg) and Donald Jones (ankle) out for the season. Chandler has caught 11 of 13 looks for 121 yards over the last two weeks. He's still a red zone threat who should continue his recent involvement.
- Tennessee has allowed the position to average 5.25 receptions, 64.3 receiving yards and 0.50 touchdown catches per game.
- Chandler is worth a waiver wire grab if you're itching for a spark in deep leagues.
