Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 12 to Week 15, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Quarterbacks

Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy value: High-end No. 1

  • Freeman is averaging 215.0 passing yards and 1.00 passing touchdowns per game. He has thrown just one interception since Week 9.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman
Freeman will have freedom vs. SEA
  • Seattle is giving up 207.8 passing yards to this position per game, which is just 22nd in the league. However, they're yielding 2.50 touchdowns passing per game.
  • The 'Hawks have allowed the San Francisco 49ers' Alex Smith and the Atlanta Falcons' Matt Ryan to throw for three touchdowns in each of the last two weeks.

Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Tebow's first NFL start didn't end in a win, but he threw for 138 yards with one touchdown and ran for another 78 yards with one touchdown. He's scheduled to start again in Week 16.
  • Houston's pass defense has played better of late. They've given up just 228.0 passing yards and 1.50 passing touchdowns per game to this position. However, facing the Tennessee Titans' Rusty Smith in Week 12 skews those stats.
  • The Texans have been one of the best opponents for opposing quarterbacks. They're also missing top defensive end Mario Williams (hernia), who was placed on Injured Reserve. Without him, they need to blitz more to keep the pressure on opposing quarterbacks; Tebow's ability to run should help him avoid that and pick apart their secondary.
  • Tebow makes for a fine one-week play if your starter is injured or faces a tough matchup.
