Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 3 to Week 6, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Place kickers

Ryan Longwell, Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Longwell has attempted just four field goal attempts, but he has drilled all of them. Luckily, the Packers have coughed up 10.8 kicking points per game on 3.75 field goal tries and 1.75 one-point tries per outing. All three figures rank among the top two fantasy opportunities for opposing kickers.
  • The way Brett Favre torched the Packers last year, it's worth noting that though he only attempted one field goal, Longwell had nine total extra points over Minny's twosome with Green Bay last year. Opportunities for splitting uprights should be there one way or another.
  • Longwell should be on your free-agent pickup radar. Minnesota's bye is out of the way, and if Brett Favre can work through his elbow tendonitis, the addition of Randy Moss will help this offense improve, meaning more potential fantasy points for Longwell.

Olindo Mare, Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Like Longwell, Mare has just four field goal attempts this year, and he has drilled all of them. He doesn't have a strong leg - his long has come from just 35 yards out.
  • That might not matter against the Cards, who have allowed kickers to line up for a league-high 4.00 field goals and 3.00 extra points per game. Seattle might have the ball often if rookie quarterback Max Hall has trouble directing the offense at the imposing Qwest Field.
  • Mare's contest against the Cards is grounds for a one-week play; he doesn't have the long-distance potential to be an every-game option.

NEW - Billy A. Cundiff, Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Cundiff has connected on 77.8 percent of his field goal attempts (seven of nine). He has hit all 13 of his extra point attempts.
  • Buffalo has surrendered the most kicking points (11.3) and extra point attempts (4.33) per game. They're allowing 2.67 field goal attempts per game, which is tied for the sixth highest average.
  • Baltimore shouldn't have much trouble moving the ball against the Bills. Buffalo is allowing 382.4 yards per game this year, the fourth most in the league. Cundiff should be in position for plenty of kicks.
