Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Mike Sims-Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos

Fantasy value: No. 2

• Mr. Smith won't get jiggy in Week 1

  The Broncos surrendered just 10.63 receptions, 127.1 receiving yards and 0.69 receiving touchdowns per game to this position last year.
• While you should still expect a decent game from Sims-Walker, Denver's defense, buoyed by corner Champ Bailey, should be able to limit Jacksonville's passing attack. This could see more emphasis on the ground game.
• Also, until Jacksonville demonstrates they have a sound second receiving option, opposing defenses will be able to key on Sims-Walker as the Jags' only dangerous receiving threat.

Steve E. Smith, New York Giants vs. Carolina Panthers

Fantasy value: No. 2 or No. 3

• Carolina gave up just 10.19 receptions per game to this position last year. In addition, they surrendered only 128.9 receiving yards and 0.25 receiving scores per game. That latter average was the lowest in the league.
• The Panthers D is missing Thomas Davis (knee), and they weren't particularly strong against the run last year. New York could test them with backs Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw.
