Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 12 to Week 15, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Running backs

Brandon Jacobs, New York Giants at Green Bay Packers

New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs
Big man, small matchup

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Jacobs is averaging 85.0 rushing yards and 0.75 rushing touchdowns per game. As expected, he hasn't caught any passes in that time with Ahmad Bradshaw garnering most of the receiving work.
  • Green Bay has allowed just 95.5 rushing yards and 0.50 rushing touchdowns per game to this position. They're allowing only 4.2 yards per carry.

Maurice Morris, Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Morris is averaging 63.0 rushing yards and 0.75 rushing touchdowns per game. He's also averaging 5.6 yards per carry in that time. As for receiving, Morris is averaging 2.50 receptions per game, though for only 9.8 receiving yards.
  • No team has been tougher on opposing running backs over the last month than Miami. They're allowing just 44.0 rushing yards per game and only 2.2 yards per carry.

Darren Sproles, San Diego Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy value: Flex or bench

  • Most of Sproles' work has come in the receiving game. He has just eight carries for 54 yards over the last two weeks, though he has caught at least five passes in each of the last two games.
  • Cincinnati is giving up 103.0 rushing yards and 0.50 rushing touchdowns per game. However, they're yielding only 3.25 receptions per game, tied for second fewest in the league in the last month, which could limit Sproles' output.
