In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 11 to Week 14, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Running backs

Brandon Jacobs, New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York Giants
Don't get your hopes up

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Jacobs defied the Minnesota Vikings' tough run D for 103 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry in the previous week, as well. He's settling in as the Giants' starter, even if his workload isn't a full-blown majority.
  • He's a startable player but is in for a letdown this week. The Iggles have allowed just 77.0 yards on 20.3 totes per game, along with 0.50 touchdowns. Jacobs might be able to squeak by with a score, but doing much else isn't a safe bet for him - especially since he mustered just 10 yards on five carries against Philly in Week 11.

Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Beast Mode was in full force for Week 13. In Week 14? Someone unplugged the controller. Lynch gained just 29 yards on 10 carries, and Seattle had to play catch-up for most of the game.
  • They'll probably have to do the same this week against a Falcons squad that already stuffs opposing backs. They've allowed 98.5 rushing yards to the position but only 0.50 total touchdowns per game. Expect Seattle to target Atlanta's weak secondary, not its front seven.
