Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 11 to Week 14, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Place kickers

Nick Folk, New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Folk has been shaky when called upon, hitting just nine of his 15 attempts since Week 9. He has nailed all eight of his extra point attempts in that time, though New York's offense hasn't given him any XPAs in the last two weeks.
  • New York Jets PK Nick Folk
    Scary Folklore
Pittsburgh is giving up only 1.25 field goal attempts and 1.00 extra point attempts per game. They're allowing just 4.8 kicking points per game, which is tied for the fourth fewest.
  • The Steelers' run defense should be able to neutralize New York's rushing attack. That should put this offense's success in the hands of Mark Sanchez, who has struggled over the last three weeks. First downs might be tough to come by.

Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Crosby has attempted just six field goals in the last month, making all but one of them. He has made all 10 of his extra point attempts.
  • The Pats are yielding only 1.00 field goal attempts and 2.00 extra point attempts per game. Their average of 4.8 kicking points yielded per game is tied for the fourth fewest in the league.
  • Aaron Rodgers' (concussion) status won't be known until Saturday. If he doesn't go, this offense could be even worse than it was last week against the Detroit Lions (three points). Don't leave yourself scrambling in case Matt Flynn receives the call Sunday night. Crosby hasn't even attempted many field goals when Rodgers is in there, anyway.
