In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 10 to Week 13, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Place kickers

Lawrence Tynes, New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1

  • Inconsistent output: Two of his last four games saw him attempt just one field goal. The Giants score plenty of touchdowns. He's 16-for-19 on the year for three-pointers, though, so at least he hasn't been terrible when called upon.
  • The Vikings have allowed just 1.50 field goal attempts per game to go with their 2.50 touchdown punctuations yielded. Their vulnerable secondary usually leads to boots attempting more extra points.

Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

Mason Crosby, PK, Green Bay Packers
Expect a lot of PATs

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1

  • Though he went 5-for-7 in his last four contests, Crosby is 17-for-23 on field goals this year - accuracy is an issue once again. He has reached double-digit kicking points just twice this year - though he had many nine-point outputs.
  • Detroit has allowed only 5.2 kicking points per game on 4.00 extra points and just 0.75 field goal tries. The Lions' defense should have trouble containing the Packers' big passing game, and Green Bay will probably accrue more extra points than field goals. That isn't a bad thing, but it limits Crosby's upside.
