Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 7 to Week 12, unless otherwise noted.

Fantasy football busts: Defensive teams

Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Green Bay's D is averaging 2.17 sacks and 1.33 interceptions per game. They're also giving up 18.3 offensive points per game. However, they've played a few poor offenses (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions), which has helped their stats.
  • The Ravens have surrendered only 2.80 sacks but only 0.60 interceptions per game to opposing defenses. They're also averaging just 15.2 offensive points. Still, the Packers aren't great at getting after the QB, though they do pick off quite a few passes. This would seem to match up poorly with the Ravens.
  • The Packers are missing Aaron Kampman (knee) and Al Harris (knee); we knew this last week, but the Detroit Lions, Green Bay's Week 12 opponent, aren't exactly an offense that can exploit this. Baltimore should prove a better test of the Pack's replacements.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Indy is averaging 2.17 sacks and 1.50 interceptions per game. They're surrendering just 18.8 points to opposing offenses.
  • Tennessee has allowed just 1.00 sacks and 0.20 interceptions per game while averaging 25.4 offensive points per game.
  • Since taking over as the starter in Week 8, quarterback Vince Young has thrown just one interception and been sacked five times. Four of those sacks came last week. However, VY was forced to pass the ball 43 times in that game, so the Arizona Cardinals had more opportunities for sacks. This could be one reason for the inflated sack total. Additionally, mobile passers like Young are tough to block for since the lineman struggle to know where the quarterback is at all times.
