Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Casey FitzSimmons, Detroit Lions (99 percent)

In the last four weeks, Fitzsimmons has just 11 receptions for 79 yards. Twice he was shut out. In the other two games, though, he was targeted 18 times. Opportunities should continue to flow in after Brandon Pettigrew (knee) was lost for the year.

FitzSimmons is mainly a consideration in deep, point-per-reception leagues. He isn't a dangerous threat with the ball (mainly a special teamer until now); he hasn't done a lot with his minimal touches so far this year, and rookie Will Heller will also chip into FitzSimmons' time. Quarterback Matthew Stafford looks Fitz's way a bit; FitzSimmons has a pair of above-average matchups in the final few weeks and is mainly a depth option.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

NEW - Dante Rosario, Carolina Panthers (97 percent)

The talented Rosario is hardly a safe play, thus his placement here. Why you should be intrigued: With quarterback Matt Moore probably replacing Jake Delhomme (finger) this week and possibly beyond, Rosario's 15 targets in his last two weeks may become the norm.

This would come in quite handy against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have yielded 5.20 receptions, 56.0 yards and 0.60 touchdown grabs per game to Rosario's class since Week 6. The Bucs didn't show too much improvement to the position after their return to the Tampa 2 last week, and the new starting signal caller should presumably check down a bunch.

NEW - Marcedes Lewis, Jacksonville Jaguars (76 percent)

Lewis hasn't received more than five targets in a contest since Week 6, but he has seen at least four in his last three; this has produced eight catches for 168 yards, a 21.0 yards-per-catch average, in that time. Lewis has flashed big-play ability when summoned.

The Houston Texans have been glad to oblige in the last six weeks; they've allowed 7.80 receptions, 69.4 yards and 0.80 touchdowns to tight ends per game. Houston has faced the Indianapolis Colts' Dallas Clark twice and the San Francisco 49ers' Vernon Davis in that time. Lewis isn't as big an offensive threat or a part of his team's game plan, but the Texans have shown vulnerability in this area, and the matchup is there if you need to exploit it.
