Fantasy Football Waiver WireFantasy Football Waiver Wire: DT - Week 9
By Bryce McRae Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DTIf you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Arizona Cardinals (60 percent)
Over the last month, no defense is averaging more fantasy points per game than the Cardinals. In that time, they're averaging 2.67 sacks, 1.00 interceptions and 1.33 fumble recoveries. They've also scored four defensive touchdowns. In the next two weeks, Arizona will face the Minnesota Vikings, who have a hobbled Brett Favre (chin, heel, elbow, foot) and probably will be without wideout Randy Moss, and the Seattle Seahawks, who gave up Matt Hasselbeck for a sack eight times last week. They'll also face the Kansas City Chiefs - not a great turnover matchup but not a threat for a ton of points - in Week 11, and the rest of their schedule is pretty cushy. In the typical fantasy playoffs, they'll be up against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 and the Dallas Cowboys, who may or may not have Tony Romo (clavicle) back, in Week 16. Yes, things could be lining up for this defense. Fantasy football free agents: One-week playsThe following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use. Buffalo Bills (96 percent) They'll need to keep some Mounties on standby for Buffalo's game at the Rogers Centre this week. Probably an ambulance, too. The Chicago Bears' Jay Cutler has been sacked 10 times in two games since returning from a concussion. He was sacked nine times in the Week 4 matchup that resulted in his concussion. Cutler also threw four picks in Week 7 before Chicago's bye. Buffalo's defense is only averaging 2.33 sacks and 0.33 interceptions per game over the last month, but they've faced some more conservative offenses in the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Cutler and offensive coordinator Mike Martz are far from conservative and should give Buffalo a chance for numerous picks and/or sacks this weekend. The Bills are a better play if your league doesn't penalize heavily for yardage and points allowed. Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DTMore Articles You Will Like
