If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, it is important to stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the course of the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up in your league. Not being aggressive in picking up fantasy football free agents is not a wise move. Sometimes, even if you do not need the player for your starting lineup, it is wise to tuck the player away for depth as well as to block others from adding the player to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are one-week plays for those who need injury or bye week replacements. These are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some are, however, showing some life and should have an eye kept on them to see if they materialize as worthy options beyond their temporary use.

Buffalo Bills (68 percent)

Yes, the Bills are banged up on defense, but they still managed six sacks and forced three fumbles against the Miami Dolphins last week. Coming up this week are the Cleveland Browns. Only one team (Buffalo) has given up more sacks this year than Cleveland (13). Starting quarterback Derek Anderson has shown a tendency to turn the ball over, too (four interceptions in 67 attempts this year).

There is reason to consider Buffalo after this week given their schedule: at the New York Jets, at the Carolina Panthers and back home for the Houston Texans. The first two of those games could be big turnover days. Buffalo is still risky given the injuries and their inability to stop the run, but if you are feeling lucky....

NEW - Cleveland Browns (96 percent)

Cleveland is only averaging 1.75 sacks and 0.25 interceptions per game over the first four weeks, but this week they have a favorable matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Yes, it's risky, but the matchup does tilt slightly in Cleveland's favor. The Bills have allowed 16 sacks in four games this year, including six last week to the Joey Porter-less Miami Dolphins. Buffalo's offensive line has been decimated this year and could struggle to contain Cleveland's D-line, especially 350-pound tackle Shaun Rogers. Quarterback Trent Edwards also has tossed five interceptions in his last three games.
