Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - AL

Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Outfielders

Dexter Fowler, OF, Colorado Rockies

Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler
Fowler coming back up

The Rox are bringing him back from Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he hit .340 in 27 games and showed ample improvement from the left-handed batter's box. Brad Hawpe (ribs) is hobbled, meaning Fowler could be plugged in soon if they decide to rest or DL the former.

That was Fowler's first trip ever to Triple-A, so you have to be somewhat encouraged. Maybe it cleared his head. He still might have to contend with Ryan Spilborghs and Seth Smith for time, but the Rox might be willing to squeeze Fowler in as much as possible because their offense is slacking.

Do your best to tuck him away, especially if you're longing for steals potential. It's better than watching someone else snatch him.

NL-only: Acquire

Ben Francisco, OF, Philadelphia Phillies

Francisco started seven of the team's 11 recent interleague games, and manager Charlie Manuel has hinted that he might try to have Francisco in the lineup more often, possibly at the expense of Raul Ibanez.

Power potential is no stranger to Francisco, who hit 15 in less than 500 at-bats in both 2008 and 2009. He hits plenty of flies to justify it, too. He also swiped 14 bags last season despite not contributing that way so far this season.

Matt Diaz, OF, Atlanta Braves

With Jason Heyward (thumb) placed on the DL, Diaz is returning from the DL. He posted a career campaign in 2009, hitting 13 homers and registering 58 RBIs and 56 runs in 371 at-bats.

This was fueled by an inflated .383 BABIP and 17.3 percent HR/FB, but his grounder and liner profiles are high enough to offer replacement-level batting average in deeps. Maybe he could be useful as a No. 5 outfielder at times, especially if your league values carrying a plug-in bat that's more useful versus lefties. No need to chase.

Pitchers

Barry Enright, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks

The righty will take the mound for Wednesday's start against the St. Louis Cardinals. Enright is a zone pounder who doesn't have big stuff, but he has posted a 2.88 ERA and fanned 83 with only 15 walks in 93 2/3 frames at Double-A Mobile.

The D-backs are looking for a pitching spark and are resting starters Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy. Enright's tenure might not last long, but keep an eye out; maybe they keep him up.
