Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - AL

Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Corner infielders

Troy Glaus, 1B, Atlanta Braves

After a sluggish April, his 10-game stretch of .400-2-13 has rekindled mixed interest. The flyballs and power haven't completely shown up yet. However, he's firmly planted in the middle of Atlanta's order, and his shoulder hasn't had any reported issues.

A return to his previous pop isn't out of the question, either. A mix of stat lines from his 2007 (.262-20-62) and 2008 (.270-27-99) campaigns isn't a bad pull from your waiver wire for a corner infield or utility spot.

Pitchers

Manuel Corpas, RP, Colorado Rockies

Atlanta Braves 1B Troy Glaus
Things are lookin' up for Glaus

Franklin Morales (shoulder) hit the DL, affirming Corpas' takeover of the interim closer role. His stay in the job will probably be short due to the impending return of Huston Street (shoulder), but those with a reserve spot for potential saves could tuck Corpas away for a bit even after Street returns.

Shallow mixed: Acquire

Deep mixed: Acquire

NL-only: Acquire

Jose Contreras, RP, Philadelphia Phillies

Brad Lidge's balky surgically repaired right elbow will undergo tests. The injury hasn't been reported as serious, but beat the rush and pick up Contreras, who's next in line for saves.

Shallow mixed: Acquire

Deep mixed: Acquire

NL-only: Acquire
