Fantasy baseball waivers and discarded fantasy baseball players can make or break a season. You may have adjusted your fantasy baseball cheat sheets over and over during spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, though, you will probably have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. When is it time to give up on your fantasy baseball sleepers? Which players are worth retaining? KFFL.com's Diamond Market series gives you the fantasy baseball tips and advice you need to sort through the masses quickly.

Key

Discard - Drop player (in most circumstances)

Stash - Hold player if roster space is available; consider dropping if trend continues

Hold - Do not drop player (in most circumstances)

Third basemen

Mark Reynolds, Arizona Diamondbacks

D-backs skipper Bob Melvin has options when he fills in his lineup card each day. Reynolds should see plenty of time this year, but he's not quite an everyday player, especially with that hole in his glove. However, some folks are a little hasty with the ax for a player who should hit 25-plus bombs.

Outfielders

Lastings Milledge, Washington Nationals

Many start off on the wrong foot. Milledge was fined for missing a team pep talk, and he has whiffed five times in his first nine at-bats. He then took a seat Wednesday, April 9. Oh no, he'll never go 20-20 now! Just kidding, but some are already non-believers in this talented midround pick.

Delmon Young, Minnesota Twins

Fantasy owners know that Young, 23, was part of a crowded outfield coming into the season. The upside for this former top prospect in baseball seemed a distant memory, which made him a great value on draft day. A day off here and there before he begins to stand out shouldn't be enough to cut him loose.
