Lindstrom was officially named the closer, as we expected. Nothing changes: He's still a No. 3 mixed closer who has the stuff to close ... just needs to show it on a consistent basis. His leash is a bit uncertain given that he's working for a first-year manager, but this was the guy the team wanted to close when they acquired him this offseason.

Mound meetings

• Colorado Rockies skipper Jim Tracy said he might look at a right-handed option in order to play matchups instead of relying solely on left-handed interim closer Franklin Morales. Possible options: Manuel Corpas, Matt Belisle and Matt Daley. The first has the most intrigue but needs to get his stuff down (literally). The latter two are worth NL-only watch list consideration. Colorado prefers to keep Rafael Betancourt as the setup man, regardless.
