In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Houston Astros RP Brandon Lyon
    Are this righty's numbers Lyon?
Huston Street tallied a perfect ninth inning Monday in securing a Colorado Rockies victory, sandwiching a groundout with two K's for his second straight dominant outing. Three of the 10 pitches he threw were changeups - that pitch caused some ire between Street and manager Jim Tracy recently. Street threw two of them on 0-2 counts and one on an 0-1.
  • In recording his seventh straight scoreless outing, Brandon Lyon notched a save of a Houston Astros win on his second straight night of work. Though he has kicked his ground-ball rate up in August, you should beware his .198 August BABIP and continually low K rate. The save chances will still be there, but they might be a bit uglier with a correction.
