In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.
Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.
Huston Street tallied a perfect ninth inning Monday in securing a Colorado Rockies victory, sandwiching a groundout with two K's for his second straight dominant outing. Three of the 10 pitches he threw were changeups - that pitch caused some ire between Street and manager Jim Tracy recently. Street threw two of them on 0-2 counts and one on an 0-1.
Are this righty's numbers Lyon?
- In recording his seventh straight scoreless outing, Brandon Lyon notched a save of a Houston Astros win on his second straight night of work. Though he has kicked his ground-ball rate up in August, you should beware his .198 August BABIP and continually low K rate. The save chances will still be there, but they might be a bit uglier with a correction.
