In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Jordan Walden
Where's Walden? 7th inning, for now
With Bobby Jenks resting, Chris Sale recorded his first major league save Wednesday. The Chicago White Sox's rook was making his 10th big league appearance in the same year he was drafted 13th overall.
Matt Thornton (elbow) is expected to return from the DL tomorrow, but Sale will likely continue seeing important innings. He can be a valuable ratio relief help in deep leagues the rest of the way.
  • A new-look bullpen gave the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim a bright glimpse of the future Wednesday. Jordan Walden, Kevin Jepsen and Fernando Rodney each threw a scoreless inning with two K's to lock up the victory, with Rodney punctuating his second save since assuming closer duties.
